Beside the Tito's cave, on this Vis Special excursion you will visit the place from which 1944. Tito said the historical sentence: "TUĐE NEČEMO - SVOJE NE DAMO" ("We want nothing of others – ours we wont give!")
, the house of the British embassy and locations where your still able to see big partizan-comunist transparents, deleted after the collapse of Yugolavija. In the village Plisko poje we'll visit the location of the former runway of the airport from the 2nd World War, used for purposes of U.S. bombers B-52, Liberators and the British Halifax's and Spitfire Squadron of BAF.
The excursion includes a visit of the allies commandos memorial place and many details about the time when Marshal Tito had led the National Liberation struggle of the battlefields of whole Yugoslavia from the undefeated island Vis, about 15 000 soldiers on the island, the Dalmatian people exile through Vis to El Shatt (Afrika), 20th of January 1944. and 150 partizans on one square meter of the island etc.
It will become clear to you why Marshal Tito decided that afer the war Vis shoud become the "Forbiden island".
An additional option is a continuation of the tour to the village house where Tito slept and held his meetings. During the meal made by recipes from domestic gastronomy, folowed by the island's wine, you'll hear some more anecdotes from the time when Marshal Tito and the Commissioners stayed on the island of Vis, known as the "Undefeated fort of the Adriatic".
